The KathNiel Phenomenon

As I was going through my “Pangako Sa ‘Yo” pictures yesterday, I realized that because of my work as “promo girl”, as I put it, for the series, marami pala akong events within and even outside of work na nasamahan ko ang KathNiel. Moments kung saan pinatunayan nila na sila pa rin ang loveteam to beat to talaga, at nagpatunay kung gaano ka-solid ang kanilang mga dakilang fans.

In fact, as I post this, “Barcelona: A Love Untold” has already earned P130 million at the box-office, and now on its 2^nd blockbuster week in cinemas. Kathryn and Daniel, 5 years later, remain major box-office drawers, and a new chapter begins for them as they successfully transitioned from teen idols to fine young actors.

Na-witness ko kung gaano pagkaguluhan ang KathNiel kahit saan magpunta. Ito yung kagulo na, natural, hindi pilit at hindi hakot. Hindi biro maghakot ng 8,000 fans sa isang mall halimbawa. Talagang may following sila. Ang mga tilian, makasirang eardrums at kayang-kayang sapawan ang sound system. Yung mga siksikang talagang magpapalapot at hulas sa ‘yo, paminsan pa ay literal na uubos ng hininga mo at hihimatayin ka. Hindi ko na mabilang ang mga kurot, hatak, kalmot at kahit hampas na inaabot ng dalawa. Mayroon pang matindi na ang ulan sa labas, pero tuloy lang ang fans sa pagsigaw at paghihintay kahit basing-basa na sila.

Ang maganda naman dun, pinakikita at pinatutunayan ng dalawa ang kanilang appreciation at pagmamahal sa kanilang mga tagahanga in their own, little ways. Lagi nilang sinasabi at pinararamdam na pinagaganda nila ang kanilang mga trabaho para sa mga walang sawang sumusuporta sa kanila. Sa GGV nga, sinabi nilang kaya ayaw rin nilang maitambal muna sa iba dahil sa mga fans. Kaya naman ang loyalty ng mga KathNiels, at ng mga solid fans nina Kathryn at Daniel, ay di naman talaga matatawaran. Block screenings, everyday trending and million tweets, sugod sa mga mall shows at tapings... At marami pang iba just to show the world kung gaano sila ka-dakilang mga tagahanga ng Kathniel.

So as an ending to this two-week KathNiel special here on “Ang Diary Ng Dakilang Fan”, and perhaps a welcome to the new beginning of the loveteam that has and continuously define a generation, here are pictures ng mga kilig at masasayang moments ng KathNiel in front of camera and/or on stage which I personally captured, dedicated sa kanilang mga Dakilang Fans. Saludo po sa inyong tatag, katapatan at pagmamahal para kina Kathryn, Daniel at maging sa mga taong nakakasama nila sa kanilang araw-araw na buhay, trabaho man o personal na buhay.

the crowd remained still and waited patiently in spite the
heavy rain.

with almost 10,000 crowd. The biggest for the mall as of this posting.

"Christmas Love Duets" launch in December last year that filled
the entire activity area of SM City Fairview.

because of the wild and overwhelming criws

where the crowd was estimated at 25,000 plus.
