Grae from ASAP two Sundays ago. |
I had no plans of writing about Grae Fernandez and the ordeal his father Mark Anthony Fernandez is going through now. With all due respect to showbiz writers and fellow bloggers, hindi kasi ganun ang intention ng blog site ko. At ang hirap magsalita o manguna sa mga ganito ka-sensitibong usapan, ang involved pa ay malapit sa puso mo.
But when I saw Grae’s Twitter post minutes ago, expressing
support and love for his father, na-touch ako. Na-teary eyed nga ako. In the
almost two years na nakilala at naging kaibigan ko siya, I know he’s really one
kind young man. Makulit, yes. Puro basketball at pagma-magic ang nasa isip.
Hindi pa nga iniisip ang girls o crushes. Bata pa e. But when things go serious, he has
good, uplifting things to say, and he listens and stands by you.

Today, Grae proved the goodness in his heart, and he defined what a good son is. Sa mga panahong pwede siyang husgahan, he chose to speak up. Short, but meaningful and powerful words from a teenager. Hindi man niya nakakasama si Mark Anthony dahil sa circumstances ng pamilya niya, but he chose to be by his side sa mga ganitong pagkakataon. He was raised well by his mom, Tita Melissa, and he is not letting setbacks get in the way for his love sa kanyang dad, who has been his idol lalo na why he is pursuing showbiz. Sobrang proud siya sa dad niya ever since.
Grae, if you say that your dad is the best dad… For me, for
us, you are the best son any parent can ever wish for. Be strong. He will need
your strength and love sa mga ganitong panahon. I’m proud of you. We are proud of you!
